All of the MarketView 2.0 databases currently available in MarketView 2.0 format are on the MarketView 2.0 web site. To go to this site:

  • Simply click on the MarketView 2.0 link at the right of this page, or
  • Enter the URL marketivew.garnter.com in your browser. Bookmark this URL to return on future visits.

If you are logged on to gartner.com, you will be transferred to the MarketView 2.0 site and have access to all of the available MarketView 2.0 databases you subscribe to. If you are not logged in, you may be asked to log in at that time with your Gartner username and password.

Save Time Signing In
To save time each time you return to the MarketView 2.0 site, be sure to save your username and password on gartner.com if you have not already done so.
  • Go to gartner.com
  • Click on the Sign In button
  • Enter your username and password
  • Click on the "save username and password" box.
  • Click the sign in button.
  • Go to the MarketView 2.0 site, marketview.gartner.com
  • You will have immediate access to all your MarketView 2.0 databases. On future visits, return to the site using your bookmarked URL.


How to create an e-mail Alert that will notify you of database updates.
  • Sign in on gartner.com.
  • Click on the Alerts link right under the Gartner toolbar.
  • On the Alerts page, choose "Create/Modify Personal Alerts".
  • Enter a new Alert name.
  • Enter the search terms to find your MarketViews: "quarterly statistics" or the specific title of the program to which you subscribe.
  • Select "Your Research" radio button under the search window.
  • Under Types of Documents, select Market Statistics.
  • Scroll down and verify your e-mail address in the input field.
  • Choose how often you want to receive the e-mail.
  • Select the "Create/Modify Alert" button to submit your Alert.
How to Search on gartner.com for MarketView databases.
Performing either a search or an advanced search will also allow you to find the Gartner MarketView database(s) currently available in MarketView 2.0 format that your company subscribes to. You must be a registered user and be signed in with your username and password on gartner.com in order to search and obtain access to the database(s) owned.

Performing an Advanced Search
Sign-in on gartner.com with your Gartner username and password.
  • Select the Advanced Search link on the navigation bar from the top of any page. Type the words "quarterly statistics" (quotes included) in the search window. You can also use a specific author if you know it.
  • Select "Your Research" radio button under the search window.
  • Under Types of Documents, select Market Statistics.
  • Click on the Search button.
Save your search as an Alert
You may save the search you just performed as an Alert and be notified when the next database update is available. In order to create the Alert you must have followed the steps outlined above to gather the criteria you will need for your specific Alert.
  • From the Search Results window click on the "Save Search as Alert" button.
  • The Create Alert window will be pre-populated with your search criteria.
  • Name your Alert by typing in the Create/Modify Alert Name window.
  • Scroll down and verify your e-mail address in the input field.
  • Choose how often you want to receive the e-mail.
  • Select the "Create/Modify Alert" button to submit your Alert.
How to Download and Open a MarketView 2.0 Database
In order to download these database files, you must subscribe to a Gartner Dataquest program that uses MarketView 2.0 as a delivery tool.
  • After you click on the MarketView 2.0 site link (at the right of this page, or from the other links in Gartner) you are presented with the MarketView 2.0 database(s) currently available in MarketView 2.0 format that you subscribe to.
  • The download is a .zip file containing the .cub database file. You will need to unzip this file after you download it.
  • Click on the icon of the diskette beside the database description title to download the .cub file database.
  • A detailed description will pop up to help you download and install the file(s).
