Mark McDonald is a global vice president and head of research in Gartner Executive Programs.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. McDonald was a partner at Accenture, where he was responsible for the Center for Process Excellence and methodology. Mr. McDonald is the co-author, with Peter Keen, of "The E-Process Edge" (McGraw-Hill 2000) and numerous other publications.
Mr. McDonald holds a B.A. in economics and political science (with honors) from Colgate University. He has a master's degree in economics and international finance (with honors) from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. |

RICHARD HUNTER Vice President and Gartner Fellow

Richard Hunter is vice president and research director in Gartner Executive Programs, where his recent work has focused on information security and risk management. Mr. Hunter is the author of the acclaimed book "World Without Secrets," published in 2002, and he is in much demand as a speaker and advisor on issues of security and privacy.
Mr. Hunter was appointed vice president and director of research for Applications Development in 1998 and was also a research director in GartnerG2. He joined Gartner as a research director in the Applications Development and Management service. Mr. Hunter is co-author, with James Kerr, of "Inside RAD" (McGraw-Hill, 1994).
Mr. Hunter was elected a Gartner Fellow in 2003. He holds a bachelor's degree in music from Harvard University. He continues to compose and perform and is a world class harmonica player |

PATRICK MEEHAN Vice President, EXP Research

Patrick Meehan is a vice president and research director responsible for Knowledge Assets within Gartner's Global Executive Programs Research Team. In this role, he is responsible for extending EXP research content to the EXP membership via interactive workshops, briefings and flagship events. In addition, Mr. Meehan will collaborate with other Gartner lines of business, and using EXP research content as the basis, will create new means of reaching CIOs and other member organization executive management team members.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Meehan was CIO for Phillips, dePury & Luxembourg, the fine arts, jewelry and watch division of French luxury goods holding company LVMH. In that capacity, he was actively involved in the transformation of a 320-year-old British brand (Phillips) from a literal pen-and-paper organization into a global market player, functioning seamlessly via completely revamped international finance systems, a global VPN and custom applications supporting all business processes, including trading environments.
Mr. Meehan holds a bachelor's degree in architecture and art history from Dartmouth College and a master's degree in interactive telecommunications from New York University

CHARLES C. TUCKER Vice President

Mr. Tucker is a vice president and research director for Gartner Executive Programs, where he is responsible for conducting research and developing publications aimed at helping CIOs and their organizations improve their performance and contribution to the business. Prior to joining Executive Programs, Mr. Tucker was a consultant with Gartner Consulting.
Mr. Tucker has more than 30 years of experience in the information technology field. Most recently he was president of his own information systems and management consulting firm and has also been a senior manager with the consulting firms of KPMG/Nolan, Norton & Co. and McKinsey & Co. Areas of specialization include: IS organization and governance, sourcing, and strategic planning.
Prior to that, he was a senior vice president and director of planning and control for the information systems and telecommunications subsidiary of First Interstate Bancorp. He has also served as chief information officer and vice president of planning for Twentieth-Century Fox Film Corporation and held prior positions at MSI Data and IBM.
He is as a founding member and past chair of the Southern California Chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM). He is a past Chair of UCLA's Anderson School of Business Information Systems Advisory Board and a past member of Teradata's Product Advisory Board. |

RICHARD POPPELL Vice President

Mr. Poppell (Rick) is an industry expert in the management of IT human capital and is a Vice President and Program Executive with Gartner’s EXP HR executive program. Rick joined Gartner in 1999. Rick’s role offers executive advice and counsel for the development and delivery of new human capital management strategies and methodologies, in addition to analyzing and reporting on IT industry trends and identifying its affect on human capital. In addition to his role as a program executive, Rick also has responsibility for writing strategic industry analyses for Gartner’s annual Market Compensation Study and Quarterly Trending reports.
Rick has experience in both the technology and human resource professions and provides his expertise to clients in many areas on human capital management including; IT business alignment, IT organization design, leadership development and coaching, organization change management, organization culture and communications, employee development and resource management.
He speaks frequently with forums of both IT and HR executives on the subject of leading IT human capital management trends. He is also a frequent presenter at Gartner Symposiums, Gartner’s EXP program, American Conference Board symposiums, the
American Conference Institute, PeopleSoft user groups, as well as numerous professional and technical associations.
Mr. Poppell received a bachelor of arts degree in marketing and computer science from Jacksonville University. He has completed studies at the AT&T Leadership Development Program and the Xerox International Center for Training and Management Development.

Jonathan Poe joined Gartner's Executive Programs in July of 1998 via its acquisition of META Group. Formerly the CIO of Lockheed Martin's Commercial Systems Group, Mr. Poe keenly understands the issues of senior IT executives. With extensive experience in the financial services, telecommunications, logistics and manufacturing industries, Mr. Poe provides Gartner clients with proven frameworks for leveraging technology to drive business growth. Over the years, many world-wide corporations have intimately involved Jonathan, as their trusted advisor, in constructing their organizations to become stronger, more inventive, swift, and street-smart.
As a CIO, Mr. Poe was responsible for developing an organization capable of providing systems engineering and integration services for many of the Fortune 500, well beyond the transformational roles of ordinary IT departments. In doing so, Mr. Poe developed a reputation for his synergistic approaches to matching business need to technology capability. Incisive and intuitive, Mr. Poe's fresh approach has earned him enviable positions in advising new age technology companies on product, process and personnel. With over 25 years of IT experience, Mr. Poe has also held leadership positions within General Electric, Applied Technology, the United States Air Force and the County of San Mateo, California, (the home of Silicon Valley) where he also served as CIO making him one of the few CIOs with both public sector and private sector expertise. Cited in such notable publications such as Fortune, CIO Magazine, the Financial Times, the Australian and Singapore Times, business executives value him for distilling the essences of business models, competitive advantages and punctual implementations.
In academia, Mr. Poe enjoys a noteworthy international reputation of disentangling complex business environments via Occam's Razor (creating success straight away). Jonathan graduated from MIT with a MSEE and from Cornell with a BSEE with post graduate work at Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He currently sits on the Board of Directors for Cornell University's College of Engineering and Minority Affairs. He also serves as a councilor to Cornell University's Board of Trustees.

Toni Edelstein is a senior program director in Gartner Executive Programs for the Americas. During her tenure with Executive Programs, Ms. Edelstein has managed Gartner’s top EXP Signature relationships on the West Coast, including Gartner’s largest vendor clients, as well as the Financial Services and Professional Services vertical industries on the East Coast.
Before EXP, where she has been for more than three years, Ms. Edelstein was a global accounts manager in Gartner's Financial Services sales organization. Prior to joining Gartner six-years ago, Ms. Edelstein had tenures with commercial, investment and central banks in research and analytical-type roles, as well as servicing the financial services industry global account teams at Lexis-Nexis and DHL.
Ms. Edelstein graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with honors in political economy, and she is based in Oregon.
