Bill Bergen, President, Oracle Canada

As President of Oracle Corporation Canada Inc. Bill Bergen is responsible for the ongoing development of the company's license line of business, as well as its day-to-day operations.

A long-time Oracle executive, Mr. Bergen previously served as the company's Vice-President, Western Region for nine years. Under his leadership, the company's Western sales increased eight-fold, the number of employees doubled and three new offices were opened. Prior to joining Oracle, Mr. Bergen spent 11 years at IBM, where he held a series of progressively responsible management positions. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan.




David A. Booth, President and Managing Director, Compaq Canada

David Booth is President and Managing Director, Compaq Canada Corp. He also serves Compaq Canada Corp. as a member of its Board of Directors as well as its Canadian Management Team. He is also a Vice President of Compaq Computer Corporation.

Mr. Booth is responsible for the overall operational activities of the Company, including sales, services, marketing, systems engineering, field support, distribution, finance, administration, customer satisfaction and quality.

He joined Compaq Canada Corp. in May 2000 in his current position. Mr. Booth joined Compaq Computer Corporation in June 1998 as Regional Vice President and General Manager, Southern Region, with the acquisition of Digital Equipment Corporation by Compaq. Prior to joining Compaq Canada, he served its American parent as Vice President, North America, High-Performance Systems Business. Over his 13 years in the United States and Canada with Compaq and Digital, Mr. Booth served in a number of Executive and sales and marketing management roles. He began his career in the high technology sector in 1984 as a sales representative with ComputerLand Canada in Moncton, New Brunswick.

A native of Moncton, New Brunswick, Mr. Booth holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mount Allison University.




Frank Clegg, President, Microsoft Canada Co.

As President of Microsoft Canada Co., Frank M. Clegg is responsible for driving the company's long-term business direction and future growth. Together with his senior management team, he will lead the Canadian organization toward the achievement of Microsoft .NET, the most comprehensive reinvention of Microsoft in the company's 25 years. The revolutionary Microsoft .NET platform will create powerful, next-generation software technologies and services for developers, businesses and consumers. Microsoft .NET will integrate different devices, software services and data sources to create a rich, unified user experience.

Mr. Clegg joined Microsoft in 1991 and ran the Canadian subsidiary for the next five years. During Mr. Clegg's first turn at the helm of Microsoft Canada, he introduced several key initiatives and investments to accelerate growth and profitability. The organization won the prestigious President's Award for outstanding subsidiary performance five out of six years.

In 1996, he was appointed Vice-President, Central Region, with responsibility for sales, marketing and consulting services in 18 US states. Under Mr. Clegg's leadership, the Central Region became the company's leading growth region four out of five years while doubling its revenue during that time. In addition, he built the Vertical Industry Solution Group Consulting Practice to focus on targeted industry verticals. He also created the tertiary market team to focus on smaller markets in the US.

Over the past decade, he has become well known and respected for his customer focus and commitment to people development.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Mr. Clegg spent several years with a leading international computer company in senior marketing and sales positions.

Mr. Clegg holds an Honors Degree in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo. He lives in the Toronto area with his wife and two daughters.




Michelle d'Auray, CIO, Treasury Board Secretariat of Canada

Michelle d'Auray was named Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Government of Canada, a position she is assuming in September 2000 at Treasury Board Secretariat. The CIO is responsible for leading, co-ordinating and providing broad direction in the use of information technology and information management across federal organisations. Her top priority is implementing Government On-Line, the government's plan to put federal services on-line by 2004.

She is joining Treasury Board Secretariat, after 14 months as Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Management, Department of Canadian Heritage where she was responsible for planning, policy coordination and research, international and intergovernmental affairs, public affairs and the effective integration of vertical and horizontal issues across the Department and Portfolio.

Prior to becoming the ADM, Strategic Management, Michelle d'Auray was the Executive Director of the Government of Canada's Task Force on Electronic Commerce, situated in the Department of Industry. As head of the e-commerce Task Force, Ms. d'Auray oversaw the launch of a comprehensive strategy designed to make Canada a world leader in electronic commerce. Ms. d'Auray was also responsible for Canada's hosting of the October 1998 OECD ministerial milestone conference on electronic commerce.

Michelle d'Auray also held a number of significant communications positions in the Government of Canada heading Industry Canada's Communications Division (1996-1997) setting up and heading the Privy Council of Canada's Intergovernmental Communications Secretariat (1994-1996), and directing the National Film Board of Canada's Corporate Affairs, Distribution and Communications Division (1990-1994).

Ms. d'Auray has also headed Canada's largest cultural industries and arts lobby group (1985-1990) responsible for introducing new copyright legislation, broadcasting legislation and revised tax treatment of artists.

She has also worked on a number of public policy task forces on Canada's economic and social union, and on the country's cultural policy.




Sheryl Kennedy, Deputy Governor, Bank of Canada

Sheryl Kennedy was appointed Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada in October 1994. Ms. Kennedy is responsible for the Bank's corporate services and for systems and operational support for the federal government's retail debt program. As a member of the Bank's Governing Council, she shares responsibility for management of the business of the Bank, including decisions with respect to monetary policy.

Born in Kingston, Ontario, Ms. Kennedy graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1976 with a bachelor's degree in environmental studies. In 1980, she received a master's degree in public administration from Harvard University.

From 1976 to 1979, M. Kennedy worked as a planner with the Nova Scotia Department of Municipal Affairs. In 1980, she joined Energy, Mines and Resources Canada where she held various positions in federal-provincial relations and oil and gas administration. In 1984, she joined the Department of Finance and became Director of the Energy and Resource Policy Division in 1986 and Director of the Economic Development Division in 1987. Ms. Kennedy served as Finance counselor at the Canadian Embassy in Paris from 1990 to 1993. On her return to Canada in September 1993, she assumed the position of Director General of the Financial Sector Policy Branch of the Department of Finance.




Paul Tsaparis, President and CEO, Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Ltd

Mr. Paul Tsaparis is President and Chief Executive Officer of Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Ltd. He is responsible for all aspects of the company's operations in Canada. He is also responsible for business development initiatives, such as alliances and partnerships, that increase HP's presence in Canada and enable it to continue to add value to the customers, partners, economies and communities it serves.

Mr. Tsaparis joined HP in 1984 as Marketing Program Manager. Since then he has held progressively senior appointments including that of Telecommunications General Manager, where he was responsible for strategic planning and development programs to increase HP Canada's presence in the Canadian telecommunications marketplace. He was also General Manager for HP Consulting in Canada. He was named Vice President, Computer Organization, in September 1997 and appointed President and CEO HP Canada Ltd. in September 1998.

During his time with HP Canada Mr. Tsaparis has also worked and studied internationally. In 1985 he attended the Co-operative Japanese and Business Society Program in Tokyo, Japan, with the Council of International Educational Exchange.

Mr. Tsaparis was born in Toronto in 1960. He holds an MBA from York University, Toronto, Ontario and an undergraduate degree in science and economics from the University of Toronto.

Mr. Tsaparis is a board member of the Information Technology Association of Canada (Treasurer) and the National Aboriginal Achievement foundation, a member of the Business Council on National Issues and a member of the Dean's Advisory council of the Schulich School of Business - York University. Mr. Tsaparis was named a recipient of Canada's Top 40 Under 40 Award for 1998 - a national program that honors Canadians who have achieved a significant level of success without yet reaching the age of 40.
