Stamford, CT. (August 21, 2002) - Gartner, Inc. (NYSE: IT and ITB), today announced the six leading CEOs who will participate in Gartner's Mastermind Keynote interviews at Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2002, to be held October 7-11, 2002, in Orlando, Florida.
At a time when the world wants to know what the industry's most influential CEOs have on their minds, Gartner will bring the biggest names and boldest thinkers together in one venue to discuss their critical insights on the year ahead. Symposium/ITxpo is the world's largest annual technology conference for senior IT professionals.
"Technology has been a key driver of the U.S. economy and everyone wants to know when the technology sector will begin growing again. Each of our guests will give us firsthand insight to six of the largest and most important sectors of technology," said Kathy Foreman, vice president of Symposia/ITxpo and executive events for Gartner. "Symposium/ITxpo continues to thrive as an event because we gather together the visionaries and the senior IT professionals whose strategies are vital to the success of business and the economy."
Gartner Symposium/ITxpo provides a forum that does not offer traditional keynote speeches by guest CEOs. The Mastermind Keynote interview sessions consist of incisive one-on-one CEO interviews conducted by Gartner analysts. The spirited interviews probe issues of vital concern to attendees.
Leading the Gartner Mastermind Keynote on Monday, October 7, will be Gartner's chairman and CEO, Michael Fleisher. During previous Symposium keynotes, Fleisher was first to predict the demise of the dot-coms and, more recently, has predicted the prolonged nature of the economic downturn for the past two years.
Also on Monday morning is the Mastermind Keynote interview featuring John Chambers, president and CEO of Cisco Systems, conducted one-on-one with Gartner analysts.
On Tuesday, October 8, Carly Fiorina, chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard, Craig Barrett, CEO of Intel, and Scott McNealy, chairman and CEO of Sun Microsystems, will separately take center stage in three more Mastermind Keynote interview sessions.
On Wednesday, October 9, Michael Dell, chairman and CEO of Dell Computer, will be featured in a fourth Mastermind Keynote interview, and will be followed by Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft.
In addition to the powerhouse lineup of Mastermind Keynotes, Symposium/ITxpo attendees return each year because of the unparalleled value they take away from more than 250 sessions and 51 tracks hosted by Gartner analysts. Along with intellectual content, attendees are drawn to Symposium/ITxpo's technology showcase, which gives attendees the opportunity to test-drive more than 300 of the latest breakthroughs in technology.
