STAMFORD, CONN., September 20, 2002 Gartner, Inc. (NYSE: IT and ITB) today announced the introduction of ITxpo Marketplaces to ITxpo, the technology showcase at Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2002, to be held October 6-11, 2002, in Orlando, Florida.
This year, three ITxpo Marketplaces will create technology-specific arenas of ITxpo focused on CRM, Enterprise Systems Management and Application Integration and Middleware. ITxpo Marketplaces are designed to maximize the valuable buyer/seller transactions that characterize a marketplace, and to offer a forum for information sharing and dialogue on the show floor. Each area will have its own theater, offering value-add Gartner market analysis and vendor demonstrations.
"ITxpo solution providers understand that meeting with thousands of enterprise users with the highest level of IT purchasing power at one event delivers a great return on investment - even during this tough economy," said Kathy Foreman, Gartner's Vice President of Symposia/ITxpo and Executive Events. "The level playing field at ITxpo creates an environment for no-nonsense IT strategic planning for providers and users alike."
In addition to ITxpo, Symposium/ITxpo attendees return each year because of the powerhouse lineup of Mastermind Keynotes and the unparalleled value they take away from more than 250 sessions and 51 tracks presented by Gartner analysts.
Symposium/ITxpo 2002 Mastermind Keynotes include interviews with John Chambers, president and CEO of Cisco Systems, Carly Fiorina, chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard, Craig Barrett, CEO of Intel, Scott McNealy, chairman and CEO of Sun Microsystems, Michael Dell, chairman and CEO of Dell Computer, and Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft.
