STAMFORD, CONN., Oct. 2, 2002 Gartner, Inc. (NYSE: IT and ITB) announced the winners of the company's two CRM Excellence Awards. Grupo Financiero Bital was selected in the large-enterprise category and British Columbia Automobile Association (BCAA) was selected in the small-to-midsize-enterprise category.
During Gartner's CRM Summit 2002, which was held September 18-20, six finalists out of 156 entrants presented their case studies to attendees who participated in choosing the winner of this year's awards. The award is given to a company in each of two categories that demonstrates excellence in CRM initiatives and illustrates a specific end-user implementation and benefits of CRM.
"In addition to technology, the two winning companies addressed the more difficult aspects of CRM, which are the valued customer experience, organizational collaboration and processes," said Beth Eisenfeld, research director for Gartner. "Also, each finalist developed a business case and projected benefits before embarking on their CRM initiatives. At this point in their CRM journey, they are able to identify real results and measure them."
Gartner honored its CRM Excellence Award recipients by making a donation in each recipient's name to a charity chosen by each.
The purpose for establishing this special award was to recognize outstanding CRM initiatives. The criteria used in evaluating CRM Excellence Award candidates included components outlined in the Gartner Research Note titled, "The Eight Building Blocks of CRM."
