GartnerGroup Acquires The Warner Group
Stamford, Conn., August 3, 1999...Gartner Group, Inc. (NYSE: IT) today announced the acquisition of The Warner Group, a leading management consulting firm specializing in information technology (IT), communications technology and performance improvement for government agency clients. The acquisition has been completed. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1980, The Warner Group (www.warnergroup.com) is based in Woodland Hills, Calif., and has offices in San Diego and Sacramento. The Warner Group's consulting practice includes more than 30 disciplines in the areas of IT, communications technology and performance improvement. The Warner Group is particularly renowned for its offerings in public safety and criminal justice systems.
Among The Warner Group's hundreds of local, state and other government clients is the City and County of Denver, Colorado, for which it is developing a strategic plan to integrate the region's various criminal justice agencies' information systems. The Warner Group is also assisting the California State Controller's Office design and implement electronic commerce systems for claims payment. Moreover, The Warner Group's Communications Division consultants are working with the Indiana State Police in designing a statewide wireless communications network that links all local, state and federal agencies in Indiana for voice, data and video applications.
