Lee Hill Joins Gartner Consulting

STAMFORD, Conn., November 20, 2000 - Gartner Group, Inc. (NYSE: IT and ITB), today announced that Riverside, Conn., resident Lee Hill, 56, has joined Gartner as vice president, business development, Gartner Consulting. In his new position, Hill is responsible for acquisitions and reports to Jason Cutler, managing vice president, Gartner Consulting.

Prior to joining Gartner, Hill founded and operated Strategic Consulting Services Corp., a Greenwich, Conn.-based consulting firm specializing in strategic planning, marketing and new product development. His clients were in the telecommunications, healthcare and consumer products industries.

Previously, Hill was vice president of corporate development at Ernst Leitz USA, Inc. Prior to that, he was worldwide vice president of marketing and sales, Consumer Products Division, at Bausch & Lomb, where he was responsible for several of the world's best-known brand names, including Ray-Ban Sunglasses and Bausch & Lomb Contact Lens Solutions. He has been a member of the CEO Council of the Connecticut Technology Council and is the author of The Nanotechnology Dictionary.

Hill received a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Illinois, holds a master's degree in chemistry from Cornell University, and attended DePaul University School of Law. He resides in Riverside, Connecticut with his wife, Genevieve.
