Carl Claunch leads Gartner research into high-performance computing, providing advice and insights to users, buyers, technology providers and investors. He focuses on a broad range of timeframes, from current trends and practices to long-range technologies and transformations a decade or two in the future. Mr. Claunch's other responsibilities include forward-looking research into technologies and trends for the general server space, to help identify discontinuities and transitions in order to advise clients on ways to benefit and strategies to mitigate impacts from those changes. In addition, he conducts integrative research across many other areas of IT, highlighting significant trends, technologies and directions, which he delivers widely in presentations and special reports.
Previous Experience
Mr. Claunch has 42 years of experience in the high-technology area. Prior to joining Gartner, he spent 18 years working at a major vendor in a variety of marketing, product line management, product management and planning roles. He has worked for IT using organizations in fields such as banking and manufacturing, as well as working for vendors and as a consultant.
