Pat Phelan covers methods and strategies for managing the ERP/business application life cycle. With Gartner for 13 years, Ms. Phelan has more than 30 years of experience in the IT industry. She previously managed the HR/financial systems consulting practice at Grant Thornton, where she developed a national center of excellence for HR systems services. Ms. Phelan has been through numerous ERP implementations, including SAP and Oracle, and has developed selection and implementation methodologies for use in the midmarket. She recently developed a methodology for modeling post-implementation support organization roles and responsibilities, and coaches client companies on ERP support strategies.
Previous Experience
Prior to joining Gartner, Ms. Phelan was the HR/financial systems consulting practice head at Grant Thornton, where she built and managed an HR and financial systems practice with a staff of 30 consultants and an annual sales budget of $5.5 million. Service areas included PeopleSoft and SAP implementations, human resource system selections, pre-/post-implementation reviews, and business process re-engineering. She was accountable for day-to-day practice management, new business development, engagement quality, infrastructure development, project management methods and tools, and employee development. Ms. Phelan also developed a national center of excellence for HR system services. Her client support activities included program management, strategic planning, package software selection/ implementation and system methodologies.
