Roles and Responsibilities
Carolina Milanesi is a Research VP in Gartner's Consumer Devices team and agenda manager for Consumer Devices. Mrs. Milanesi leads the research in the area of consumer devices, covering what has become known as "the computing continuum." While keeping involved with market share and market forecasting, her focus is more on strategic advice and client-facing activities covering both the vendor community and the end-user one. Key areas of coverage are: mobile device vendors' competitive analysis, mobile device operating systems, application stores, media tablets and Ultrabooks. Mrs. Milanesi is also Apple's vendor lead. She is regularly called on as an industry expert and quoted in publications such as The Economist, The Financial Times, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. She is also a regular guest on BBC Radio and TV programs as well as Telecom TV and Bloomberg Television.
Previous Experience
Mrs. Milanesi joined Gartner in February 2000 as part of the Enterprise Network and Communications cluster, where her role encompassed in-depth research and statistical analysis of the network interface card market in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Other areas of research that fell within her coverage were the interactive voice response market in Europe, the WLAN market worldwide, networking by line of business in Europe, and distribution channels worldwide. Prior to joining Gartner, Mrs. Milanesi worked for three years as a European survey manager for NTC Research in Henley-on-Thames, U.K., specializing in economic and financial reports on the state of the Italian economy.
