Roles and Responsibilities
Mark Raskino is a Distinguished Analyst and Gartner Fellow in Executive Leadership and Innovation research. Mr. Raskino works primarily with CIOs and CEOs. He covers business and technology trends and their implications for business strategy and IT management. Mr. Raskino's research includes Gartner's Annual CEO Survey, Annual CIO Resolutions and Annual CEO Resolutions, as well as the 2008 Harvard Press book "Mastering the Hype Cycle." He is an accomplished and frequent keynote speaker. Current key research topics include: CEO perspectives on business and technology, new trends in IT-enabled business growth, innovation management Hype Cycle, and information innovation in business strategy.
Previous Experience
In previous roles at Gartner, Mr. Raskino has:
- Chaired Gartner's Emerging Trends Symposium (2007 and 2008)
- Developed macro-scale emerging trends research (2005 and 2006)
- Co-led Gartner's real-time enterprise research (2003 and 2004)
- Coordinated IT cost containment research (2002)
- Led B2C e-business research in Europe (2000 and 2001)
Before joining Gartner, Mr. Raskino was a senior e-business manager at British Airways, following prior work within its IT department on loyalty programs, airport operations and revenue management systems. Early in his career, Mr. Raskino worked in IT departments in the telecommunications and oil industries.
