Roles and Responsibilities
Andrew White is a research vice president and agenda manager for MDM and Analytics at Gartner. His main research focus is master data management (MDM) and the drill-down topic of creating the "single view of the product" using MDM of product data. He was co-chair of Gartner's 2008 U.S. MDM Summit. He has a strong background in supply chain management (SCM), and he is also researching the evolution of SCM and business intelligence technologies and architectures toward performance management solutions. Mr. White received the Gartner Thought Leadership Award in 2006 for his effort in pioneering Gartner's research in enterprise information management that led to MDM, and was a nominee for the Gartner Thought Leadership Award in 2007 for his work on MDM.
Previous Experience
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. White was in the software industry for eight years, consulting on SCM/SCP and collaboration (CPFR, CTM) solutions to CPG/retail companies mainly in the U.S. Mr. White also served on the VICS (www.vics.org) CPFR (www.cpfr.org) Advisory Committee, where he chaired the Trading Exchange Interoperability subcommittee and previously chaired the n-tier CPFR subcommittee. His last role there was heading up product strategy. Before that, he served in the CPG/retail space in the U.K., where he worked for Elizabeth Arden, a cosmetics company.
