Daniel Sholler is a vice president in Gartner, where he advises clients on issues around application architecture, integration and development. Mr. Sholler is an authority on service-oriented architecture, and his current research focuses on applying the architecture and concepts of the Web to enterprise software.

Mr. Sholler has been an industry analyst since 1997. He has spent the majority of his career developing and deploying middleware and integration solutions. He is a recognized expert in the creation and use of Web services and in the exploitation of service-oriented architectures. Mr. Sholler joined Gartner in April 2005, with the acquisition of Meta Group. Prior to that, he had extensive experience developing and deploying various middleware and integration solutions. He was vice president of development and professional services at Frontec AMT, as well as director of Unix software development and director of EDA/SQL product management at Information Builders.
