Roles and Responsibilities
David Newman is a Leadership Partner with Gartner for Enterprise IT Leaders. He advises and collaborates with IT leaders on the effective use of enterprise architecture to drive transformative, innovative and strategic change. Prior to joining Gartner for Enterprise IT Leaders, Mr. Newman spent eight years as a Vice President in Gartner Research, where he was a member of the Enterprise Architecture team, specializing in enterprise architecture, information architecture, big data strategies and enterprise information management programs.
Mr. Newman serves clients as advisor, coach, educator and workshop facilitator. He has more than 30 years of experience in information technology. He received the Gartner Thought Leadership Award in 2006 for pioneering Gartner's research in enterprise information management.
Previous Experience
Before joining Gartner, Mr. Newman held key operational and management consulting roles in retail, insurance, financial services and energy industries. He was a regional practice lead in data warehousing for a global professional services company, and a retail industry partner for a major technology vendor.
