Roles and Responsibilities
Leif-Olof Wallin is a Research Vice President in Gartner Research, where he advises enterprise clients on all aspects of networking infrastructure and services. His research has a special focus on enterprise mobility where he pays special attention to mobile applications infrastructure, mobile security, remote access, mobile device management and enterprise sourcing of mobile applications. Mr Wallin also coordinates research in network planning and operations on a global level as well as contributes regularly in the Gartner for IT Leaders program for IT infrastructure and operations.
Previous Experience
Mr. Wallin has 25 years of experience in the IT industry, including extensive international experience. He is a frequent speaker at events on wireless technologies and mobile infrastructure, including their impact on commercial best practices and telecom service providers. Mr. Wallin joined Gartner in April 2005 with the acquisition of META Group, where he led the mobile infrastructure research on a global basis. Prior to joining META Group in April 2001, Mr. Wallin was vice president of European operations at Surgency Inc. (formerly Benchmarking Partners), where he led a research practice on the mobile Internet and helped build European presence. Previously, he was chief technology officer for Industri-Matematik International, a recognized leading supplier of supply chain execution solutions.
