Victor (Vic) Wheatman is a managing vice president in Gartner Research, where he is part of the Security and Privacy team. His research specialties include public key infrastructures and related applications, as well as the five-year security scenario. Mr. Wheatman has also chaired and programmed several of Gartner's security conferences.
Previous Experience
Before joining the Security team, Mr. Wheatman was a vice president in Gartner's Electronic Commerce/Electronic Business research area. He served as President of the northern California EDI/EC Users Group for seven years. Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Wheatman was a program manager at Input, a market research firm, specializing in electronic data interchange. Earlier in his career, Mr. Wheatman worked as a public radio producer and station manager. He created the award-winning National Public Radio program "Car Talk."
