Roles and Responsibilities
Kevin Sterneckert is a Gartner Research Vice President. Mr. Sterneckert researches and analyzes demand sensing and shaping optimization activities within the consumer value chain network of manufacturers and retailers. Included in this research are demand modeling techniques utilizing downstream data, syndicated data, social media and other unstructured data sources. Mr. Sterneckert is an expert analyst of merchandise life cycle (assortment, space, price, promotion, markdown and offer) optimization.
Previous Experience
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Sterneckert was the senior director of global product strategy for merchandise planning, optimization and supply chain at Oracle Retail. He also served as the GM and VP of Retail for DemandTec, a provider of merchandise optimization solutions. Mr. Sterneckert held several store positions at HEB Grocery Co. and also led its perishable pricing activities for several years. He managed operations development domestically and directed the private label program and supply chain activities in Mexico City with Wal-Mart Supercenters. As a CIO of a billion-dollar grocer, he delivered a complete enterprise replacement of all back-office, store operations and merchandising systems. Mr. Sterneckert's career also includes accomplishments with the leading provider of private label services, Daymon Worldwide, where he addressed industry initiatives and retail research.
