Roles and Responsibilities
Joerg Fritsch is a Research Director in the Gartner for Technical Professionals Security and Risk Management Strategies team. His specialties include information security, data center and cloud security, big data (analytics), cloud computing, PaaS, distributed systems, messaging and event-driven systems, and very fast networks and servers. Mr. Fritsch has been working for enterprises and Internet service providers in security, risk and compliance topic areas and has served for 10 years as Information Security Officer for the NATO Communications and Information Agency. He is currently working toward his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Cardiff University in the U.K. His current research interest includes cloud computing, utility computing and network science.
Previous Experience
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Fritsch was responsible for The Haag and Brussels locations of the NCI Agency. He led the local implementation of the NATO security policy and a NATO accreditation methodology similar to ISO 27000. He provided strategic guidance on security architecture, operations and the selection of key technologies. He also designed many security solutions that are now widely adopted within the alliance as de facto NATO solutions, also generating significant cost savings within NATO.
