Roles and Responsibilities
David W. McCoy is a managing vice president and Gartner fellow emeritus. He currently leads the Business Process Management group as team manager and researches business process management (BPM), business rules management (BRM) and cost optimization. Mr. McCoy hosts the Gartner voice podcast sessions on business process improvement, which is part of Gartner's new offering: Gartner for IT Leaders.
Previous Experience
Mr. McCoy has co-led the Gartner Fellows, was the founder of Gartner's Academic Roundtable, has been the editor in chief of the monthly Gartner Spotlight on Application Integration, managed the application integration research team, initiated Gartner's BPM coverage, co-initiated Gartner's Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) research, and led the team building of Gartner's research operating and governance models.
Mr. McCoy once led Gartner's research on document imaging, workflow and related electronic workplace topics. Prior to joining Gartner in 1995, Mr. McCoy worked at a "Big Six" consulting organization, where he focused on strategic information systems planning, document imaging systems, open-systems networking and future technology analysis that included researching and speaking on the emerging Internet's role in enterprises.
