Data Center Sourcing: Cloud, Host, Co-Lo, or Do It Yourself
2 September 2010

Richard Jones

The decision to outsource or in-source applications that support a given enterprise function is not a simple matter. Just when IT organizations felt they had figured out what to outsource and what to keep in-house, cloud computing has fueled renewed interest in outsourcing and caused enterprises to reassess their IT services sourcing strategies. In this Decision Point, Managing Vice President Richard Jones describes the decision process to determine when and how enterprise applications should be sourced. Sourcing may be done internally or by one of many externally hosted cloud and managed- services models.
