Office 365 is Microsoft's third iteration of delivering Exchange, SharePoint, and Lync via software as a service (SaaS). Based on the feature differences between the cloud and software versions, Microsoft-centric enterprises should seriously investigate the multitenant version of Exchange Online; consider Office Professional Plus, the Office Web Apps, and the hosted version of SharePoint Online based on their needs; and avoid both versions of Lync Online.
