Growing IT's Contribution: The 2006 CIO Agenda
1 January 2006

Mark P. McDonald   Marcus Blosch   Trish Jaffarian   Lily Mok   Sandra Stevens

During the last 30 years, IT has changed the world. The world is now changing IT. CIO priorities reflect the tightening connection between enterprise and technology priorities. This is leading to new ways of working. CIOs work "in" the business by concentrating on executing and improving the business's current capabilities--an enabling role. And they work "on" the business by creating innovative new products, services and capabilities--a contributing role. Regardless of what role they play, CIOs recognize that attitudes toward technology only change based on the facts on the ground, and not strategies or imperatives in the boardroom.
