Federico De Silva Leon is a Principal Analyst with Gartner's Technology and Service Provider research team. His coverage area includes data center infrastructure software such as IT operations and data center infrastructure management (DCIM). Mr. De Silva also covers sustainability within the context of IT in general and data centers in particular. Mr. De Silva's role includes helping technology and service providers identify market opportunities through market share, forecast analysis and trends reports on infrastructure software and sustainability. In this role, Mr. De Silva is a strategic advisor for established providers and startup companies seeking to understand the changing landscape of IT operations and the opportunities. Being a native Spanish speaker and having covered the Latin American market for more than a decade, Mr. De Silva helps clients and end-user organizations with market and technology strategies in this important emerging region. Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. De Silva was a research assistant at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in Palo Alto, California, where he worked on research projects related to government regulations and their impact on the electric utility industry.
