Robert Booz is a part of the Healthcare Industry Research group, where he is responsible for analyzing enterprisewide initiatives of healthcare plans and the vendors that support them. He specializes in strategic changes affecting the intersection of business and information. His personal research coverage includes U.S. healthcare reform, new product development and implementation, technology innovation, consumerism, and new delivery models. In addition to thought leadership on existing technologies, he also develops points of view on prospective and emerging issues such as payer-provider convergence and the new business models needed to remain operationally viable.

He has held senior executive positions in both provider-sponsored and insurance company-backed managed care organizations. That experience gives him a practitioner's approach to IT problem solving. In consulting roles to the nationâs leading health organizations, work with senior management has included IT strategic planning, packaged software implementation, business operations improvement, developing strategic/tactical plans, market and product expansions, and turnaround activities. Recognizing the need for continuous learning, he teaches graduate students in the University of Connecticut, School of Business.
