Prior to joining Gartner, he gained experience in IT strategy and leadership, helping enterprises with system development, application architecture and business technology planning. He performed duties as VP and CIO at Magellan Associates, providing interim CIO services to IT organizations in need of realignment. Prior to Magellan Associates, Mr. Santos served two and a half years at Catholic Medical Center as VP and CIO, where he was responsible for implementing computing infrastructure, clinical applications and architecture, as well as developing wireless infrastructure. He was also an enterprise technology officer for Liberty Mutual Group, and he has led IT groups within financial services, software and public sector advisory (firms such as Aetna, Kaiser Permanente and Bowstreet Software) organizations. Mr. Santos has been honored with Computerworld's Premier 100 CIO award, has presented at numerous IT and business conferences, and has chaired the eCoast Technology Roundtable (an economic development effort by the Portsmouth (New Hampshire) Chamber of Commerce).
