As part of Gartner's IT Infrastructure and Operations - Core Research and Advisory - ITSM group, Tapati Bandopadhyay covers IT operations and ITSM best practices, including cost optimization, IT financial management, ITIL processes and cloud management, ITSM tools and automation, IT operations people and process management practices, and the ITScore maturity model for I&O. She has been working extensively with IT leaders and teams across several large global organizations in BFSI, manufacturing, services and governments on their ITSM initiatives. In ITSM frameworks, she covers all ITIL 2011 service strategy and transition management processes; cloud-related process readiness; ITSM balanced scorecards, strategy maps and capability maps; and ITIL BRM, SLM and demand management processes.

Ms. Bandopadhyay has more than 15 years of experience, starting with Tata Motors - India's largest automobile company - in technical services, for two years. Then for five years, she worked with GEC Glasgow and the Apeejay Group. Her keen interest in technology management-related research took her to several senior-level research and executive training positions at top institutions, including NMIMS. Since 2004, she also worked with a niche process consulting firm as senior ITSM consultant on a project basis. She has handled several long-term multilocation assignments with Siemens, ITS, Accenture and IBM.
