Meike Escherich is a Principal Analyst on Gartner's Personal Technologies team. Her core competencies are centered on market share and forecasts (for PCs, ultramobiles and phones) with a special focus on the EMEA region. As a native speaker, she is also the main analyst for market trends in Germany. She regularly publishes strategic advice on identifying market opportunities for device vendors and is heavily involved in Gartner's Annual Worldwide Personal Technology Surveys on device usage, buying preferences and consumer segmentation. She also leads Gartner's Hype Cycles for Consumer Devices and manages the quarterly WW Average Sales Price database. Other areas of expertise where she can advise both vendors and end users are BYOD/CYOD, sustainability (EU legislation and asset disposal), voice UIs on devices (including VPNs), mobile research methodologies and IT for the education market.
