Summary:
The Senior Consultant, is a member of North America Gartner Consulting. The primary responsibility of this position is to participate in the delivery team on Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) and/or Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) engagements specializing in RFP/contract development and negotiations. This person should have knowledge of outsourcing service level agreements, pricing, and deal terms. It is anticipated that this position will include both client support and intellectual capital development. Sourcing/Transaction Brokering engagements can include sourcing strategy development, vendor selection, assisting the client in developing and negotiating large outsourcing deals, reviewing existing outsourcing contracts, relationships and/or assisting the client in improving overall contract management. This person will also assist as part of a pursuit team in the marketing and selling of strategic sourcing engagements and will help build Sourcing Practice methodology, solutions and resource capabilities under the guidance of practice offering leads. |

Responsibilities:
- Participates as a team member on strategic sourcing consulting engagements across all phases of the sourcing lifecycle with an emphasis in RFP development and negotiations.
- Leads sourcing consulting engagements in areas where expertise fits client's needs.
- Assists in quality assurance reviews on deliverables and reports, reviews and contributes to conclusions, and presents to the client.
- Contributes and provides support to the development of practice intellectual capital.
- Contributes to the growth and development of Strategic Sourcing Practice Solutions and integration of other Gartner business units.
- Assures that intellectual capital is transferred for reuse.
- Develops and educates less experienced consultants in learning Strategic Sourcing Practice Solutions.
- Provides support on sales pursuit activities in areas such as proposal development and, where appropriate, presentation to clients.
- Supports and assist sales and marketing organizations by making joint sales calls where subject matter expertise can help qualify client needs.
- Assists Sales in developing account plans to identify new opportunities for Gartner.
- Attends regularly scheduled Practice Pipeline meetings.
- Ensures all time tracking and engagement management systems are updated on a regular basis.
- Ensures compliance with and implementation of legislative requirements and Company policies/practices which impact on the employee?s work area. These include equal opportunity and occupational safety, health and welfare legislation.

Qualifications:
- 5 years + experience in providing IT management consulting or related services to major organizations either as a service provider, consultant, or lawyer in a professional services firm that has been involved in strategic sourcing engagements.
- Graduate level degree required
- Information Technology and/or Business Process Outsourcing experience desired
- Offshore experience desired
- Practical knowledge of formal outsourcing processes, methodologies desired
- Experience in sales and delivery in a professional services setting desired
- Business development experience with an understanding of the entire client development/sales lifecycle desired
