Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Infrastructure and IT operations industry IT trends, issues, buyer and vendor activities and positions, major product/services announcements, and vendor acquisitions and alliances.
- Design and analyze surveys to further your knowledge of this industry.
- Write and publish topic reports; present research findings and analyses at Gartner and industry conferences, deliver small consulting/advisory workshops.
- Create thought-leading tools, frameworks and methodologies for this industry.
- Anticipate future industry, market and client requirements on a 5 year planning horizon.
- Establish relationships with Infrastructure Managers in IT companies as well as with IT Infrastructure providers.
- Design and analyze surveys to understand the needs, issues and priorities of Infrastructure and Operations Managers in IT departments.
- Use this information to become expert at understanding the needs of this market segment, and then use that knowledge to guide Product Management in the structuring on new products as well as guide development of research agendas to address these client issues.
- Do strategic sales support with prospect accounts and targeted accounts.
- Work collaboratively with other analysts, clients, product management and marketing, consulting, sales.

Qualifications:
- 5-10 years as infrastructure/IT operations industry IT practitioner or research analyst.
- Knowledgeable of Infrastructure technology, solutions, IT vendors and their products/services.
- Able to work independently, but also skilled in collaborative project work.
- High energy level and intellectual curiosity.
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Analytical ability.
- Client service mentality.
