Summary:

To provide thought leadership in the area of IT/Business process design/management and Business/IT relationship management. Focus will be to develop and fulfill a research agenda which addresses the needs of CIO's and CIO direct reports at Global 2000 companies.

Responsibilities:

    Fulfillment shall take the form of written research notes, strategic analysis reports, presentation content, client briefings, and consulting engagements. The RD will be expected to effectively communicate importance of agenda to analyst peers and drive collaboration around his topic area. In addition the RD will be expected to present his research findings at conferences, client consulting engagements, CIO roundtables and to the media.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Create specified volumes of written research to be published on gartner.com These documents include brief strategic reviews (i.e., Research Notes) as well as in-depth analyses (i.e., Focus Reports or Strategic Advisory Reports)
  • Answer telephoned and e-mail inquiries from clients in covered Topic Areas.
  • Create materials for and deliver face-to-face, teleconferenced and taped presentations to clients at Gartner conferences and other external and internal events.
  • Provide individualized advisory and consulting services for clients.
  • Expand Gartner's intellectual capital through the creation of new research, models, and analysis
Qualifications:

  • BA/BSc degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years experience in the IT industry with an emphasis on Business process design and Business / IT relationship management
  • A business focused senior IT manager or a CIO direct report with extensive experience of business process management for a large enterprise.
  • Experience of managing large scale multi-sourced delivery
  • Good understanding of Enterprise Architecture, Business service management and High level IT risk management
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret information quickly and provide an opinion - ability to analyze forecasts, annual reports and other data to draw conclusions and make predictions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to write clear and concise research reports, provide input to press releases, create presentations and to present findings to clients, colleagues and the press.
  • Flexibility and strong customer service orientation - willing to go the extra mile to meet client needs.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time without supervision, but also skilled in collaboration with team members. Ability to mentor more junior analysts to develop their knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written) required; fluency in other European languages desirable.
