Summary:

The Web Designer designs web pages and produces graphics for use on the web and other digital platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Present complex information in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Create visualizations of an interface concept, usually in the form of wireframes and mockups
  • Develop storyboards for the interface that include a sequence of elements, the relationships among them, and accompanying scripts;
  • Develop working prototypes that give the look and feel of a concept with indications of how the user interacts
  • Work with developers to develop the scripts and code that will be part of the interface
  • Effectively balance usability, interface design and graphic design skills
  • Complete the interface based on the feedback from the prototype stages
Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience designing computer interfaces, animation, and graphical elements for a major media or publishing industry web site
  • Experience designing and developing professional template and database driven web sites
  • Strong working knowledge of design, usability and marketing
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Flash a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with web design standards
  • Excellent understanding of HTML
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff
  • Attention to detail
