Summary:

EXP Public Sector Relationship Managers (RM) are the primary interface to Gartner for EXP Public Sector Premier members. They are responsible for all aspects of EXP program fulfillment and for retention. RM's are expected to deeply engage their clients and develop lasting, trusted relationships. They are also responsible for developing collaborative partnerships with sales colleagues and with other business units in support of growth and retention. RM's must work as well in teams as they do individually and they must be skilled communicators. They must have the ability to engage and influence at senior-levels and be able to actively set/manage expectations of clients and stakeholders. They need to possess or develop a strong working knowledge of business and IT trends, and the federal government structure and key federal processes and legislation impacting the role of the CIO and technology in business. The working environment for RM's is a dynamic, multi-tasking environment. Each RM manages up to 35 clients. Consequently, they must have excellent organization, time management and prioritization skills. To deliver fully on EXP Premier's preferential access/trusted partner value proposition, RM's must be highly responsive to member needs, they must develop and maintain a deep knowledge and inventory of member issues and they must drive value through high-levels of issue-driven pro-activity and network access.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain individual member profiles
  • Drive proactive, profile-based fulfillment - conduct customized searches and pro-actively send relevant research and information based on unique customer profile and understanding of each client's organization business, goals and challenges as well as the client's individual goals
  • Broker all research requests and inquiries (i.e., receive request, interpret and deliver client responses customized based on understanding of the organization, managed to client expectations, coordinate and facilitate access to Gartner analysts)
  • Initiate and facilitate member networking and member communities
  • Partner with Membership Services to maximize RM client relationship time - provide clear direction and feedback to Program Researchers
  • Support planning and execution of member events (local and regional roundtables, Annual Forum, Symposium)
  • Drive member attendance at EXP and Gartner events
  • Participate in roundtables, conferences and Forums as required
  • Collaborate with EP - i.e., identifying and participating in case studies, working with other RM and PD colleagues within EP
  • Support sales in new member acquisition, cross-selling, account planning, renewal and upgrade strategies
  • Maintain a regimen of account planning, account activity tracking, renewals forecasting and management review
  • Conduct special projects
Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills - must have an ability to develop and sustain executive-level relationships as well as internal organization relationships across a variety of roles and levels.
  • Superior written and oral communications skills (applied in both in person and phone interactions)
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills (applied in both in person and phone interactions)
  • Strong organizational, account management, and time management skills
  • Managing multiple relationships and working in a highly multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to interpret and understand CIO's key issues
  • Ability to deliver (at the executive level) scenarios, interpret research, deliver presentations and address complex, cross-industry executive-level inquires
  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge of general office systems
Desired Knowledge:
  • Broad understanding of the technology industry (key trends in hardware, software, strategy, management)
  • General knowledge of major business trends and executive management issues
  • General knowledge of the role of the CIO
  • Strong understanding of the Federal Government, including the various branches of government, as well as broad understanding of legislation that impacts the CIO and the IT organization
  • Top Security clearance desired
