Responsibilities:
- The Systems Engineer will co-manage the enterprise Sun, HP and Linux web systems; provide 24x7 availability for critical systems; participate in the strategic planning of the enterprise UNIX servers; troubleshoot and resolve performance or hardware issues; perform day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Plan, implement, and maintain the Sun, HP and Linux servers in an enterprise data center environment Manage the Apache web services for the Intranet servers.
- Implement systems monitoring and capacity planning tools.
- Provide third-tier support to Oracle DBAs, Application Developers, and Intranet Web Authors.
- Document security policies and procedures and ensure adherence to these.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Five years experience in UNIX system administration.
- Strong knowledge of the Linux operating system.
- Experience managing Sun Microsystems servers, experience with Solaris 8 or Solaris 9 operating systems.
- Experience implementing highly available solutions (multi-node clusters, load balancers).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good judgment, prompt decision-making ability, responsibility and accountability.
- Commitment to providing a high level of service.
- Commitment to teamwork as both a contributor and a leader.
