Summary:

Candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining Gartner's publishing systems. The position requires extensive experience in software development with web-based technologies using object oriented analysis, design and implementation techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new and maintain existing J2EE code
  • Design, implement, test and support applications
  • Work within specifications provided to meet programming assignment goals and objectives
  • Write SQL and apply relational database design principles
  • Develop and maintain templates and workflows written in PERL
  • Take responsibility for on-schedule delivery of features and releases
  • Lead or contribute to development of custom code
  • Lead or contribute to architecture and technical design
  • Lead or contribute to software requirements, design, and code inspections
  • Review and analyze business requirements
  • Create, maintain, and present technical information to different audiences
  • Work with 3rd party vendors on technical design/specifications, development, testing, deployment and support to ensure the product meets requirements
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science from a four-year college or university
  • 8 or more years experience in software development
  • 5 or more years experience with J2EE including JSP, Servlets, EJB, and design patterns
  • 5 or more years experience with PERL
  • 3 or more years experience in software development on UNIX and MS-Windows operating systems
  • 3 or more years experience with XML/XSL, HTML, JavaScript and CSS
  • Experience with Weblogic application server and Oracle relational database management system
  • Experience developing highly scaleable web applications
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
