Responsibilities:

  • Focus on to the creation of a research agenda, client issues analysis and Gartner positions on content management in the context of the high performance workplace. The value of this individual would be to support not just pure content management but the linkage between CM/CI and CRM, BI/DW and business applications and business process management.
  • Contribute as primary to research on knowledge workplace research topics such Smart Enterprise
  • Suites, HPW architecture, information management and related technologies.
  • Support with other analysts research, client interactions and engagements on the following areas:
    1. High Performance Workplace Client Issues
    2. High Performance Workplace Client Issues
    3. High Performance Workplace main vendors
    4. High Performance Workplace ROI & business case
    5. High Performance Workplace Best Practices
  • Perform research by reading, networking with clients, vendors and analysts, evaluating and analysing information and participating in KX/CM/E-learning Research Communities Meetings and other activities, which comprise the Gartner research process.
  • Create specified volumes of written documentation of research (e. g. Research Notes, Strategic Analysis Reports, First Takes, Spotlight notes, etc.) in fulfillment of Gartner commitment to clients. Each analyst maintains a research agenda focused on Client Issues and creates in the order of 60 pages of written research per year.
  • Add value to the research by analysis (which may include triangulation, pattern recognition, and application of experience) and packaging for each of the appropriate deliverables described.
  • Answer telephoned and e-mail inquiries from clients in covered Topic Areas. (Each analyst handles inquiries each year and maintains a skill lists to identify his/her primary and secondary areas of coverage)
  • Create materials for and delivers face-to-face, teleconferenced and taped presentations to clients.
  • Provide individualized consulting for clients which involves presentations regarding Gartner research and findings to individual companies or providing advice to a user or vendor client for a day or two.
  • Provide sales support by speaking to prospective and existing clients via telephone, by making face-to face sales calls with sales personnel and by delivering speeches at "prospectors" (half-day seminars whose purpose is attracting prospective clients).
  • Interact with local and international press and media to provide Gartner?s position on relevant events in the specific areas of coverage
  • Complete additional projects as assigned.
Qualifications:

    REQUIRED: Bachelors Degree Business, Finance, IT, English

    DESIRABLE: MBA, Ph.D. Computer Science

    A minimum of 15 years experience working in the IT field is required. Responsible of enterprise content management of portal project, intranet project for a user company with more than 10000 users, or as a product manager for a IT SW infrastructure vendor, or as a senior consultant/partner in a major SI with knowledge of software infrastructure and information management.

    The individual must have significant applicable experience to be knowledgeable about the area of expertise and to be accepted by clients as an expert or "guru". The IT knowledge needed typically entails both an understanding of knowledge management as a business process, IT technologies supporting a KM program as well as the industry and the market of IT solutions, vendors, products and user strategies in the area of expertise.

    Beyond knowing the facts in the area of expertise, the individual must be good at analysis - seeking out and piecing together fragments of information, extrapolating, building and applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns and drawing conclusions from partial data.
