Career Paths
Associates in the Gartner Executive Programs service delivery team fit into one of three roles:

Executive Advisor: The Executive Advisor is the primary client manager and owner of the CIO relationship for the Gartner EXP Premier membership program. Requirements include: five to 10 years’ experience as a consultant or manager in IT; a solid understanding of the IT industry, its business value and the role of the CIO; and strong critical thinking and relationship skills.

Executive Partner: The Executive Partner is the primary client manager and owner of the CIO relationship for the Gartner EXP CIO Signature membership program. Requirements include: at least 10 years’ experience working as a CIO or in a senior management role in IT; in-depth understanding of the IT industry including alignment of business and IT strategies; and evolved ability to lead and manage ambiguous situations.

VP, Executive Partner: The VP, Executive Partner is the primary client manager and owner of the CIO relationship for the most senior, global CIOs. Requirements include at least 15 years’ experience working as a CIO or in a senior management role in an IT capacity in a complex, global, multibillion-dollar organization and in-depth understanding of the IT industry and the role of the CIO, including leadership, IT operations management, strategy and trends, and use of metrics.

Gartner Executive Programs also has a dedicated research community focused solely on the role of the CIO.
