Question. What changes are taking place to GartnerG2

Answer. All GartnerG2 clients will be transitioned to the new Gartner Industry Advisory Services offerings on gartner.com. GartnerG2 research will also be transitioned to these offerings.

As a GartnerG2 client, you will receive access to all Industries previously included in GartnerG2 (with the exception of Travel-see below) at your current service level for the remainder of your contract.


Q. Will I receive communication from Gartner about these changes?

A. Each client received an e-mail outlining these changes that included a username and password for gartner.com on 18 July. If you are a current GartnerG2 client and have not yet received this e-mail communication, please e-mail client services at client.response@gartner.com or contact your client services analyst.


Q. How will my contract change?

A. You will be migrated to Gartner Industry Advisory Services offerings on gartner.com. You will receive access to all Industries previously included in GartnerG2, at your current service level, for the remainder of your contract.


Q. Will the way research is written change?

A Gartner Industries Advisory Services research will continue to write to both the business and technology perspectives within each industry and how these intersect, intertwine, align and affect each other. Gartner Industry Advisory Services analysts will continue to write in the same GartnerG2 style and tone, but within gartner.com research templates.


Q. What documents are being migrated to gartner.com?

A. The most recent two years of GartnerG2 research will be migrated to its appropriate Industry focus area on gartner.com and will be fully integrated into both Search and Browse. If you have any questions, please e-mail client.response@gartner.com.


Q. Will GartnerG2 analysts transition to the new Gartner Industry Advisory Services offerings?

A. Yes. With the transition from GartnerG2 to Gartner Industry Advisory Services offerings, GartnerG2 analysts will continue to focus in their industry areas. In addition, some analysts from the Core Research ranks who are specifically focused on key Industry areas have also been named Industry analysts.

The research agendas will begin to change due to the change in focus of the Gartner Industry Advisory Services offerings. These new services will actively drive agendas from market studies and focus groups that give us deeper insight into each industry's most important issues.


Q. What will happen to Cross-Industry research?

A. Cross-Industry research will continue to be accessible to GartnerG2 clients. This research will be shared across Industries, accessible through Search, and Cross-Industry analysts will be available for inquiry. This research will be available through the gartner.com Web platform along with all other research.


Q. Will any GartnerG2 industries be retired?

A. GartnerG2 recently retired its coverage of the Travel industry. As of 15 July, Automotive coverage will be included within the Manufacturing Industry coverage area.


Q. What will happen to the research Alerts I currently receive from GartnerG2?

A. Unfortunately, we are unable to move GartnerG2 Alerts to gartner.com. You will need to set up Alerts within your new gartner.com accounts.

You can create Alerts in a few simple steps using either the Manage Alerts link on the home page (after you log in) or any Search Results screen:
    — Provide an Alert name for the search terms you've specified
    — Choose whether your Alert should retrieve only Research You Own (documents
        that are included in your service agreement) or All Research
    — Fill in any Advanced Search options desired. More information on these filters
        can be found in Advanced Search
    — Choose delivery method and frequency
    — Click the Update button

Q. Where can I get more information about how to use gartner.com?

A. Online training and a quick-start guide are available on gartner.com to help you get started. If you need more help, please contact your account representative.


Q. Who do I contact with questions about my password and ID or logging on to the gartner.com site?

A. Please contact your client services representative, e-mail client.response@gartner.com or go to the help page on gartner.com for assistance.


Q. What will happen to the GartnerG2 Web site?

A. The GartnerG2 site will exist during the transition as a research archive. New research will be published only to Gartner Industry Advisory Services on gartner.com. GartnerG2 content will be migrated to gartner.com within the appropriate industry focus area as of this date. GartnerG2.com will be retired by 2006.
