Gartner strives to meet the highest standards for accuracy and thoroughness in our research and editorial coverage. When oversights occur, however, we will list them below.

27 December 2007
In "Magic Quadrant for Wireless LAN Infrastructure, 2007" (G00153883), the Magic Quadrant graphic was corrected to fix the position of Aruba Networks. In addition, the definition of PCI was corrected. In the Vendor Strengths and Cautions section, revisions were made to the sections on Extricom and Cisco. The corrected version is now available on gartner.com.

In "Predicts 2008: The End of Old Certainties in C&SI" (G00153004), the fourth Strategic Planning Assumption was incorrectly worded. The wording has been updated and the document republished.

In "Magic Quadrant for Business Process Management Suites, 2007" (G00152906), under the Vendor Strengths and Cautions section, a caution for Metastorm was removed: Also, we inadvertently omitted Newgen Technologies from the "Other Vendors Considered for This Analysis" section. The corrected version is now available on gartner.com

In "Market Trends: Accounting-Based Small-Business Management Software, U.S., 2007-2008" (G00150620), a dollar sign was inadvertently placed in front of a number on the first slide. The slide has been corrected and the document republished.

The "Magic Quadrant for WAN Optimization Controllers, 2007" (G00153256) was originally published with a blurred graphic in the Adobe .pdf file. This was corrected, and cosmetic adjustments have been made to the placing of some vendors' names in order to remove any possible confusion about these companies' position on the Magic Quadrant. The updated version is now available on gartner.com.

The "Market Share: Supply Chain Management Software for Manufacturing, Worldwide, 2006" (G00153840) has been republished to correct errors in the data for software revenue. The corrected document is now available on gartner.com.

In "Gartner on Outsourcing, 2007-2008" (G00153873), one of the documents cited, "Gartner on Outsourcing 2007-2008: Infrastructure Outsourcing" (G00151117), had a hyperlink to an incorrect document. The hyperlink has been corrected.

In “Vendor Rating: EDS” (G00153142) in Table 1, the change listed for “Product/Service” has been corrected from “No Change” to “Up.” The corrected version is now posted on gartner.com.

In "MarketScope for the 'Ruggedized'-Handheld-Computer Market, 2007" (G00152234), a correction was made to two product names, which now appear as CN30 in the Intermec section and Motorola MC 50 in the Motorola section.

In "Quality Management Testing Tools and Market Definition Helps Decision Making" (G00152617), the company name Klocwork in the Code Quality and Metrics Testing Tools section was corrected.

"Driving Business Results: The 2007 Research Agenda Survey" (G00149675) was republished to correct Figure 9. A line connecting to a graphic was missing.

In "Predicts 2008: Enterprise Network Services" (G00153011), the term "Femot" was corrected to "Femto." The Strategic Planning Assumption "By 2010, one-third of enterprises will hold their network service providers, rather than just the network, at least partly accountable for business outcomes" was changed to: "By 2010, 15% of enterprises worldwide will hold their network service providers at least partly accountable for business outcomes, not just the network." Related sections of the document were updated to reflect the most recent information on this.

"Dataquest Insight: Telecom Service Provider Revenue and Demand Performance, Western Europe, 1H07" (G00152731) has been republished to fix errors in Tables 4-1 and 4-2. This corrects an input error for the revenue of O2 Group and Cesky Telecom.

In "Analysis of Brazil as an Offshore Services Location" (G00152661), the rating for "Data and intellectual property security and privacy" in Table 1 was changed to "Fair," as stated later in the document.

Several Customer Insights Inquiry Statistics were published without complete pivot table menus in the Vendor Mentions Pivot Table chapter. This has now been corrected in the following documents, and new versions have been posted on gartner.com:

A Gartner research document entitled "Analysis of Pakistan as an Offshore Services Location," (151687) dated 13 November 2007, has been temporarily retracted. During the creation of this report, some factual review steps were omitted. The document will be republished when the review is complete.

In "Static Application Security Testing: Vendors and Products, Part 2" (G00150657), a paragraph of text was removed from the Klocwork section, and a paragraph describing an offering from Cenzic was added to the section on Ounce Labs.

The "Dataquest Insight: Offshore BPO Providers Establish European Presence, 2007" (149340) has been republished to correct the spelling of the company name Firstsource.

The "Market Trends: Business Process Outsourcing, Western Europe, 2007" (150565) has been republished to correct the spelling of the company name Firstsource.

U.S. Data Centers: The Calm Before the Storm (151687) has been republished following additional factual review. As a result, changes were made to the following sections:

In the Analysis and Future Data Center Options sections, we added new text and revised wattage numbers. The Using Evolving Tools and Techniques section also contains new text. A corrected version of the document is now available on gartner.com.

"Methods Comparisons and Selection Options for Adopting an Agile Development Method" (G00148081) has been republished to update Figure 1 and Table 2.

"Navigating SAP Supplier Relationship Management Licensing and Bundling" (G00150296) was republished to reflect changes to SAP product naming conventions in the table.

In The Market Statistics report titled "Market Share: Select Semiconductors for Mobile and Cordless Phones, Worldwide, 2006" (G00150499) was originally published with an incorrect Table 1-1. This table failed to provide aggregate figures for the companies listed in Tables 2-1 and 3-1. In addition, some of the companies' numbers were incorrectly totalled in Table 1-1, and certain rankings in the same table were wrong (though the underlying tables and sub-rankings were correct). We have now corrected the published version.

In "Forecast: Mobile Connections, Asia/Pacific, 2002-2011" (G00149636), the Australian exchange rate figures given were incorrect. An updated version of the document is now available on gartner.com.

In "The Gartner CRM Vendor Guide, 2007" (G00147938) has been revised to correctly identify the company referred to as IFS. IFS is Industrial and Financial Systems.

In our recently published document, "Semiconductor Packaging, Assembly and Test Facilities: Worldwide, 4Q07" (G00152687) some wording was adjusted slightly in Chapter 9. "Although there was only one new planned facility..." was changed to "Although there were only two new planned facilities..." A corrected version of the document is now available on gartner.com.

In "Quarterly Statistics: Server Shipments, Worldwide, Preliminary, 3Q07" (G00152853) has been republished to fix errors in Tables 3 and 4. Companies were listed in the incorrect order in these two tables. The tables have been updated with the correct data.

In "Forecast: Portal, Process and Middleware Software, Worldwide, 2006-2011, Update" (G00150223) has been updated. As part of our normal methodology process, we have reviewed published forecasts against the first three quarters of the main software vendors that drive revenue growth and against internal inquiry demand in all categories of the portal, process and middleware forecast. The result of this review requires that the enterprise service bus and the business process management suite forecasts be reset downward because the base line for the 2007 and 2008 annual growth rates was too aggressive. This new report shows the results of this change to the compound annual growth rate in these market segments.

In "MarketScope for Sales Incentive Compensation Management Software, 2007" (G00147695), the revenue figures for Callidus have been corrected to read "$48.335 million and $43.610 million in fiscal years 2006 and 2005." Commas were inadvertently used instead of periods.

"Customer Insights: Trend Report for Software, 2Q07" (G00150594) has been updated. Changes were necessary because the Overview section contained information from 1Q07.

"Software-Based Appliances: A Moment of Convenience, a Lifetime of Regret" (G00151349) has been revised to correct "independent system operator" to "International Organization for Standardization" in the "What Is an SBA" section. The updated version of the document is now available on gartner.com.

We have republished "Windows Server 2008: When You Should Care" has been republished to reflect a change in Microsoft�s end-of-life policy for its Windows Server 2003.

Using Business Process Management Suites as a Foundation for Saas (G00151265) has been revised to remove two Recommended Reading documents that are not currently available and to include a note that defines terms. The updated version of the document is now available on gartner.com.

We have republished "Market Trends: Product Information Management Software, Worldwide, 2006-2011" (G00151247). There has not been a change in sizing or forecast. The original document misidentified the ownership of Udex. The company is owned by GXS and not Sterling Commerce. Also, Figure 1 has been changed from a representation of master data management to that of product information management. The updated document is now available on gartner.com.

"Magic Quadrant for Contact Center Infrastructure, Asia/Pacific, 2007" by Geoff Johnson (G00150110) was republished due to a vendor name error. "Alcatel" (as we listed it) was changed to "Alcatel-Lucent." The updated document is now available on gartner.com.

"Market Share: Mobile Devices by Technology, Worldwide, 2Q07" (G00151776) has been revised to correct the Microsoft Excel pivot table. The updated document is now available on gartner.com.

"Quarterly Statistics: PDAs and Smartphones, All Regions" (G00141146) has been revised to correct some inaccurate smartphone shipment numbers for 2Q07 in the Latin America region. An updated version is now available on gartner.com.

"Dataquest Insight: Software Publisher Software Support Portfolios, Microsoft, North America, 2007" (G00147598) has been republished to include Table 4, Microsoft Business Solutions Support Offerings, which was originally omitted. The updated document is now available on gartner.com.

"Vendor Survey Analysis: Benchmarking Hardware Support Operations, North America, 2006 Update" (G00146285) has been republished to correct inaccurate data reported in Table 7, which conflicted with the data presented in Table 2. We have corrected the report as follows: In Table 7, in Average On-Site Repair Time (hours), the trend was changed to "Positive." In the "2006" column of the same line, the number was changed to 1.1; in the "2004" column, the number was changed to 1.3.

"Magic Quadrant for Integrated Document Archive and Retrieval Systems, 2006" (G00140780) has been updated to correct the name of vendor John Henry Associates to Jack Henry & Associates. An updated version of this document is now available on gartner.com.

"How Sun Is Recasting Solaris and What it Means to Users" (G00151305) has been republished to revise the sentence "Do not be misled that Sun is a box supplier � its core value is in the stack, and Solaris and Java play a central role in driving user decisions." Magic Quadrant for Information Access Technology, 2007 (G00151042) was republished to correct a bulleted entry under the Autonomy Strengths' section: "The vendor has sound financials and a strong customer list bolstered by its recent acquisition of Verity and its intended purchase of Zantaz." The corrected sentence now reads: "The vendor has sound financials and a strong customer list bolstered by its recent acquisition of Verity and Zantaz."

In research document, The Emerging E-Discovery Market (G00148978), we inadvertently stated that market would grow in size to reach $8.5 million by 2010. This figure should have read $847.2 million. The updated version is now available on gartner.com.

The "Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Single Sign-On, 2007" (G00150863) has been revised to clarify the Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria on password synchronization and to note that multi-industry presence was an inclusion criterion in 2006. "Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications, 2007" (G00150273) has been revised to correct the Ericsson product name to be Ericsson Unified Applications suite and MX-ONE solutions. The updated version of the document is now available on gartner.com.

Sun, IBM Will Both Benefit From Greater Solaris OS Support (G00151278), republished to correct the impression that vendors such as HP offer no Sun subscriptions or support whatsoever. There are HP systems on Sun�s hardware compatibility list, but HP does not ship Solaris or Solaris support subscriptions.

"Revisiting the Managed File Transfer Market and Vendors That Support It" (G00149338), has been revised to delete the reference to "Premier Technologies" and replace it with the correct company reference of "Primeur."

"Dataquest Insight: Emerging Electronics Give EMS/ODM Companies New Competitiveness" (G00149627), has been updated. Changes were necessary because of an oversight regarding the Figure 1 title, which mistakenly referenced Taiwanese production of IPC, DPG and GPS/PND technologies. Figure 1 actually refers to worldwide production of these technologies.

In "Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications, 2007" (G00150273), a correction was made to the UC portfolio reference under Microsoft strengths, where "IBM" had been inadvertently substituted for "Microsoft." In addition, disclaimers were added for Avaya and Silver Lake Partners.

"Forecast: Printers, Copiers and MFPs, Worldwide, 2006-2011" (G00148912) was republished to correct problems with doubling of U.S. and Canadian historical data; correct 91+ ppm segments forecast for U.S. and Canada; correct historical data for EMEA copiers; correct historical data for Japan (end-user spending); and supply missing Asia/Pacific spending data. "Market Share: Storage Management Software, Worldwide, 2006" (G00150503), was republished to reflect information provided from a vendor but overlooked during the preparation of this report. A small amount of revenue was shifted from one market subsegment to another for that vendor, but the vendor's storage management software overall revenue and the report's overall revenue did not change.

"IPT vs. TDM Life Cycle Purchase and Operations Costs" (G00150236), was republished to fix some rounding errors in the figures and to make the figures' column headings more explanatory. A corrected version of the document is now available on gartner.com.

The summary of our recently published document "User Survey Analysis: IT Spending Plans in the SMB Market, Asia/Pacific, 2007" (G00149943), has been updated. A corrected version of the document is now available on gartner.com.

"Case Study: Project and Portfolio Management at Transport for London" (G00146959), has been updated to correct a vendor name, Primavera Prosight. The revised version of the document is now available on gartner.com.

In "Market Share: Security Software, Worldwide, 2006" (G00150079), the pivot table was updated to correct a formula error which caused amounts to be incorrect in euros and yen.

"Magic Quadrant for Product Information Management, 2Q07" (G00148303), was republished due to a discrepancy in the i2 Technologies Strengths section. The original stated that "The last official release of i2 MDM for PIM was 6.2; release 6.2.2 was shipped in 2Q06 and supports global data synchronization workflows for suppliers, not retailers." However, it does support retailers and the document was changed to reflect this.

"Market Share: Portal, Process and Middleware Software, Worldwide, 2004-2006" (G00149788), has been updated. The names and classification of some of Software AG's products needed to be changed in Table 5-1.

Our recently published document, "Forecast: Semiconductor Back-End Equipment, Worldwide, 3Q07" (G00150271), has been updated. The summary was corrected to show back-end equipment market growth of 16%, not 14%, in 2006. Some 2005 and 2006 data points in Tables 8-1 and 9-1 were also corrected, including CAGRs for a few market segments. A corrected version of the document is now available on gartner.com.

"MarketScope for Contract Management, 2007" (G00144777) was republished due to an oversight with the vendor Selectica's rating. Selectica's rating has been changed to Promising.

"Hype Cycle for CRM Sales, 2007" (G00148219) has been republished to reflect a vendor name change: "Infor CRM Epiphany" was changed to "Infor."

In "Case Study: Commonwealth Bank of Australia�s CommSee Is a Framework for Achieving Business Goals" (G00147839), Figure 1 was adjusted to replace a reference to CommVu with CommBiz, a multichannel integration solution.

"Select the Right Monitoring and Fraud Detection Technology" (G00149716) has been revised to correct the spelling of the vendor Guardium's name. The error has now been corrected and the document has been updated on gartner.com.

Our recently published First Take, "HP's SPI Dynamics Buy Sets Trend in Application Security Testing" (G00149777), has been updated to clarify the roles of the dynamic application security testing (DAST) and static application security testing (SAST) tools within HP's total application security testing offering.

"The Gartner CRM Vendor Guide, 2007" (G00147938) has been revised to remove a factual error about DoubleClick in Section 4.1.7. The error has now been corrected and the document has been updated on gartner.com.

A Gartner research document entitled "Forecast: Mobile Phone Memory Consumption, Worldwide, 2006-2011" has been retracted. The report contained inconsistencies in the data compared to a number of other Gartner reports.

In our recently published document, "Forecast: Broadband Access Systems, Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan), 2006-2011" (G00148915), our forecast for the FTTx market and, therefore, the overall broadband access market was too large. As a result, "Forecast: Broadband Access Systems, Worldwide, 2006-2011" (G00148942) also had too large a market forecast for Asia/Pacific. Corrected versions of both documents are now available on gartner.com.

A Gartner research document entitled "Oracle AIA Presents Retailers With an Alternative to Fusion Applications" has been temporarily retracted. The document is currently under revision so that we can complete a more in-depth internal review, and will be re-published shortly.

A Gartner research document entitled: "Dataquest Insight: Top 20 Telecom Equipment Vendors, Worldwide, 2006" dated 29 May 2007 contained some inaccuracies in tables and figures. We have temporarily retracted this document. It will be corrected and republished shortly.

To enable easier client access, we have consolidated three sample job descriptions into a single document: "Toolkit Sample Template: Program and Portfolio Management Job Descriptions." (G00149218) The documents consolidated were previously titled "Toolkit: Job Description for a Department Project Manager," "Toolkit: Job Description for an Enterprise Program Manager" and "Toolkit: Job Description for an IT Portfolio Manager."

"Magic Quadrant for Application Infrastructure for Back-End Application Integration Projects, 2Q07" (G00147400) was republished due to minor textual oversights. Sterling Commerce�s first and second published caution bullets were changed.

"A Democratization Process Will Bring Wireless E-Mail to the Masses" (G00149207) was republished due to a data error with a percentage under the Microsoft Exchange heading.

"Market Share: Application Development and Project and Portfolio Management" (G00148905) has been updated. Changes were necessary because of an oversight regarding UMT and Microsoft. Microsoft acquired UMT's PPM product in January 2006. Gartner Dataquest has corrected some of its statistics for market shares in the application delivery controller segment of the worldwide market for application acceleration equipment in 3Q06. The revised numbers, published on 29 January 2007 in "Market Share: Application Acceleration Equipment, Worldwide, 3Q06" (G00146098), put Nortel in fifth place for revenue from application delivery controllers in 3Q06, with a market share of 5.2%. The incorrect figures were published on 7 December 2006 in an identically titled document coded G00145252, which has been withdrawn.
