Gartner Announces Winner of 2007 Business Intelligence Excellence Award

Richmond Virginia Police Department Honored at Gartner Business Intelligence Summit

STAMFORD, Conn., March 15, 2007 —

Gartner, Inc. today announced the winner of its Business Intelligence (BI) Excellence Award. The award was given to the Richmond (Virginia) Police Department, Chief Rodney Monroe.

The award, which honors an enterprise that most clearly demonstrates excellence in its business intelligence initiatives, was presented during the annual Gartner BI Summit, held this week in Chicago.

Companies submitted their applications for the Gartner BI Excellence Award based on a combination of business value, technical implementation and best practices employed as defined by the Gartner Business Intelligence and Performance Management Framework. Gartner’s BI research analysts evaluated the applicants and selected three finalists who presented their case studies at the BI Summit. Attendees then voted to select the award winner.
