Mohan Jayaraman is a Joint General Manager at ICICI Bank heading the Business Intelligence & Retail Structured Finance teams. He joined ICICI Bank in 2002 as a part of the Retail Structured Finance team.
Mohan currently spearheads the Business Intelligence function of the bank leading a team of over 150 analysts. This team has been the driving force behind the enhanced usage of business intelligence for effective decision-making cutting across various functions of the bank. Mohan was instrumental in aligning the BIU structure in line with BICC. Over a span of 3 years, Mohan has moved the Decision Influence Index of BIU from 1.1 to 5.2. Today BIU of ICICI Bank works across the ICICI Group on varied projects across the BI domain.
Mohan was instrumental in building the Retail Structured finance portfolio of ICICI Bank into one of the largest in India. He played a pivotal role in concluding some of the largest single party retail portfolio buyout transactions in India.
With increasing focus on Stressed Asset management in the retail space, Mohan's efforts resulted in ICICI bank concluding the first Structured NPA sale transaction in the retail domain in India. Apart from the Structured Finance portfolio Mohan had brief stints in Portfolio Management for the Consumer Banking division.
Mohan is a Cost Accountant by profession and he started his career with Citibank India He has subsequently worked in the retail banking space before joining ICICI Bank in 2002.

Christopher Rowley is a senior IT executive with more than 15 years of leadership experience, including directorships and management roles with global leaders such as Tetra Pak and Silicon Graphics. His background encompasses business transformation, business-IT alignment, IT governance, IT planning and architecture, business intelligence, e-business systems, SAP development, supply chain systems, and program management.
In his current role as Director of Global Business Intelligence & e-Business Systems for Tetra Pak, Mr Rowley shortened the financial close process by 50%, implemented an effective business intelligence strategy, and saved the company millions of Euros per year by establishing a Singapore-based information management group, migrating development and other IT responsibilities from Europe.

The Gartner Business Intelligence Excellence Award is dedicated to promoting excellence in Business Intelligence and Performance Management. Gartner BI analysts will evaluate, recognize and reward the most successful recent BI implementations by end-user organisations.
Gartner received many high calibre nominations from all over the Asia Pacific region and from many industry sectors.

The Business Intelligence Excellence Award finalists will each present their case studies during a plenary session at the Business Intelligence & Information Management Summit 2009 on Tuesday 24th February 2009. Summit attendees will vote to select the winner. The winner will be announced during the closing keynote on Wednesday 25th February 2009.
