  Jeffrey E. Garten teaches economics and business at the Yale School of Management, where he was formerly the dean. Prior to coming to Yale, he was undersecretary of commerce for international trade in the Clinton administration, and he also served in the Nixon and Ford administrations. He spent 12 years on Wall Street as a managing director of Lehman Brothers and the Blackstone Group, and has written a number of books on the global economy and business strategies.
