Keynotes

K1: Business Sensitivity Analysis Leads to Better I&O Solutions
Speaker: Joe Baylock, Group Vice President

Gartner research on business pattern sensitivity provides a basis for thinking about how IT infrastructure and operations leaders interact with their business partners and how they evolve their organizations. In some cases, reacting to weak signals in the economy or in an enterprise's market is a quick call that is guided by one's experience. In other cases, substantial analysis may lead to changes that take much longer to implement. This short opening session will examine the business pattern sensitivity concept and draw conclusions for I&O professionals.

K2: Infrastructure and Operations: Charting a Course for the Coming Decade
Speaker: Dave Cappuccio, Research Vice President

Cloud Computing may be the current hot topic in infrastructure, but the same technologies and techniques that may make cloud computing viable are already making internal infrastructures more efficient and effective. We look at the key hardware, software and management trends in infrastructure and operations, and build a road map for infrastructure and operations for the next five years.

K3: Service Management Perspectives: Building Common Ground Between Business and IT
Speakers: Ronni Colville, Research Vice President and Distinguished Analyst; Donna Scott, Research Vice President and Distinguished Analyst

Every CIO survey points to the desire for IT to have alignment with the business. Yet it has proven elusive and is always top of mind. What IT organization doesn't want a strategic seat at the table and want to meet business priorities, provide the right services at the right cost, quality and agility? Then why is it so hard? Does aligning with the business mean catering to every whim? Is that what service management is all about? Is there a middle ground? This presentation will explore key contentious business and IT issues surrounding service management, communications, business value, social networking, device diversity, cloud computing and more in a format that explores extremes to enable identification of common ground and practices benefiting and optimizing the collective business and IT.

K5: The Most Important Technologies in Your Data Center Future
Speaker: Carl Claunch, Research Vice President and Distinguished Analyst

Technology evolution and revolution will change everything about our data centers, from what we place in them to how we operate them. This session looks at the most important new technologies and shifts to come. Attend to prepare for the changes you need to accommodate in the next few years, and for the more dramatic transformation opportunities in the decade ahead.
