IT operations groups are at the center of nearly any cost reduction effort that involves IT infrastructure. Although the pressures are intense, there has never been a better opportunity to demonstrate the business value of an internal IT operations group that can execute IT infrastructure projects. At the moment, the primary business objective is cost reduction. When the economy improves, new business initiatives will require quick adaptation within the IT infrastructure.
