Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing




Business intelligence (BI) technology and applications will continue to evolve to meet enterprises' demands. However, the path to successful BI is not always a smooth one. During 2003, many enterprises will struggle to deploy data warehouse and BI technologies due to overall complexity, a lack of needed skills and lukewarm management commitment.

Although BI and data warehousing technologies will continue to improve, they will have many limitations. In a depressed software market, consolidation will be a natural byproduct, with smaller and weaker vendors falling prey to larger ones. It will be a challenging year for many vendors.
