Tools

Option One: Outsourcing Financial Assessments (OFA) for IT Sourcing and Procurement Directors
An OFA evaluates the price and quality of services provided to a service recipient (SR) by an external service provider (ESP). The price and services are compared to a peer group with similar IT environments. These components deliver insight into the contracted elements of service levels, pricing strategy and responsibilities. The elements can be used for internal evaluation of an existing client engagement or an anticipated negotiation with a prospect.
    Benefits:
  • Assesses price and performance to provide an understanding of the engagement value as compared with similar peer groups
  • Identifies and provides comparative data to define acceptable standards for IT service levels
Standard Deliverables (choose two of three):
  • Contract Financial Assessment
The Contract Financial Assessment provides a review of the key financial elements of a single sourcing contract between the ESP and the SR. The assessment reviews the key areas of the contract that are of high impact due to the risk assignment, dollars spent and the necessary elements that pertain to ongoing management and measurement.
  • Responsibility Assessment
The Responsibility Assessment involves input from the SR and ESP. It requires both parties to review which entity is responsible for the various deliverables in the IT environment. The accompanying responsibility matrix provides a tool to define the current contracted and informally accepted areas of responsibility.
  • Service-Level Assessment
The Service-Level Assessment provides up to 10 service levels with the tools to address their overall structure, including exceptions, penalty and incentive, measurement, reporting process and reasonability elements.
