Winners to be announced at the Gartner CRM Summit in Scottsdale, Arizona, October 4-6
STAMFORD, CONN., September 20, 2004 Gartner, Inc. announced the six finalists for Gartner's CRM Excellence Award, which will be presented at the company's CRM Summit, October 4-6 in Scottsdale, Arizona. The awards will be given in two categories to companies that most clearly demonstrate excellence in their customer relationship management (CRM) initiatives.
The first category is small-to-midsize companies, which is defined as companies or divisions with revenue up to $500 million and up to 1,000 employees. Finalists in this category are Aviall Industries, Pitt Ohio Express and Starbucks.
The second category is large enterprises, which is defined as companies with revenue of more than $500 million and more than 1,000 employees. The three finalists in this category are GE Commercial Finance Fleet Services, Hutchison 3G UK Limited and National Australia Bank.
"Whether you need to segment customers, unearth business intelligence, enter new markets or overcome stagnation, you can circumvent some common challenges by studying the experiences of Gartner's CRM Excellence Award finalists," said Adam Sarner, principal research analyst for Gartner. "In these case studies, leaders from a broad range of industries explain how they used CRM to better serve and manage communities of all sizes - from employees and customers in new markets to Web shoppers and citizens."
Gartner analysts have selected the six award finalists based on extensive applications outlining their CRM initiatives. The six finalists will present their CRM stories to conference attendees at the CRM Summit, and attendees will be able to provide their feedback as to which companies they believe should be award winners in each category. Gartner analysts will then select and announce the two winners during the closing session of the conference on October 6.
The Gartner CRM Summit will be held at The Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale. The conference will feature 25 Gartner analysts and more than 20 industry experts and implementers from leading end-user companies. They will provide a comprehensive view of the future of CRM, and they will outline the most effective strategies and best solutions.
