Gartner Launches Three New Offerings Tailored To Clients' Job Related Activities |

| New Offerings For IT Leaders in "Business Intelligence and Information Management," "Sourcing & Vendor Relations" and "Enterprise Architecture" |
Stamford, Conn., May 25, 2006 - Gartner, Inc. announces three new offerings within the Gartner for IT Leaders product suite. The new offerings are "Business Intelligence and Information Management," "Sourcing & Vendor Relationships" and "Enterprise Architecture."
Gartner for IT Leaders aligns a client's specific job-related challenges with the appropriate Gartner analysts and insight, and connects clients to IT peers who share common business and technology issues.
"We've organized in one convenient place everything our clients need to succeed, with easy-to-find content that's relevant to their daily responsibilities," said Robin Kranich, senior vice president of research business development at Gartner.
Each role covered by Gartner for IT Leaders has its own mini-site. These mini-sites provide Gartner for IT Leaders clients access to role-specific content on gartner.com crafted specifically for them, creating an easier, more-targeted and valuable experience. Content through these mini-sites includes newly created activity cycles that organize content around the ways clients plan for and execute on their jobs.
"Our objective is to establish these mini-sites as essential tools for clients, offering fresh new content each day via blogs, podcasts, market news, analyst picks and highlighting the most relevant research to their role," Ms. Kranich said.
The Enterprise Architecture offering is targeted to IT leaders with responsibility for enterprise architecture and/or business strategy.
"Impacting the organization's ability to mobilize technology for business advantage is a task every enterprise architect wants to take on, but the daily pressures and demands of system delivery and operations often gets in the way of creating and using an effective enterprise architecture," said Robert Handler, vice president of research at Gartner. "This offering helps clients focus on the strategic and tactical aspects of their role by helping them create and operationalize their strategy and plan."
The Sourcing and Vendor Relationships offering is targeted for IT leaders with responsibility for sourcing, IT procurement, vendor relationships, outsourcing contracts, vendor contract management or IT service performance management.
"Many sourcing and vendor decisions are decided ad hoc, as tactical reactions to immediate needs," said Christopher Ambrose, research director at Gartner. "In the end, costs aren't effectively controlled, service effectiveness is compromised and customer satisfaction suffers. Nearly all organizations have room for improvement in their sourcing competencies and vendor relationships. Whether clients are procuring products or services, we can help leaders responsible for sourcing contribute to business growth, expansion, increase agility and profitability, and provide business advantage."
The Business Intelligence and Information Management offering is targeted for IT leaders in segments such as information management, analysis and strategic planning, data warehousing and decision support, and corporate performance management.
"Business intelligence and information management are more than just information dissemination and executive support," said Betsy Burton, vice president and distinguished analyst at Gartner. "They're about driving higher business impact and performance with a pervasive approach that empowers a larger set of people, business applications and business processes. This offering will enable clients to create a positive impact on their business processes and operational performance."
There are currently five role-based offerings available, including the first two released in February: "Security and Risk Management" and "IT Infrastructure and Operations." Later this year, Gartner will release three additional role-based offerings in IT areas: "Business Process Improvement," "Applications Management" and "Program and Project Management." In 2007, Gartner will offer role-based access and products designed specifically for technology and service providers.
"We are also releasing a new premier service level for the Enterprise Architecture and Security and Risk Management offerings, with a similar service available for all the role-based offerings available later in the year," said Ms. Kranich. "This new, high-service offering will provide an increased level of client/analyst interaction that includes regularly scheduled meetings and on-site planning sessions with an assigned analyst. The premier service is inspired by our highly successful Gartner EXP program, our very first role-based offering launched 11 years ago for chief information officers, that offers both content and member experience customized to their specific role. The success of EXP is the reason we know Gartner for IT Leaders will be successful in serving individuals in specific roles."
