Conference for IT Professionals and Business Leaders Scheduled for Moscone Center, May 15-19

SAN DIEGO, CA. March 31, 2004 — Gartner Inc. announced today that its spring conference for information technology professionals, Gartner Symposium/ITxpo, has been scheduled next year in San Francisco at the Moscone Center, May 15-19.

This year's event in San Diego, which attracted more than 2,400 registered participants, was hosted by the San Diego Convention Center for the fifth year. The event concludes Thursday, April 1.

In relocating the conference to San Francisco, Gartner said it chose a highly desirable destination city that is closer to the large concentration of high-tech businesses and supporting professional services in the Bay Area. In addition, the Bay Area provides a variety of convenient options for business travelers.

"Gartner Symposium/ITxpo is growing, and the San Francisco location allows us to expand the event more rapidly," said Kathy Foreman, group vice president, Gartner Events. "The focus of the spring 2005 event will be emerging technologies, trends and opportunities. With the Bay Area continuing as the global center for emerging technologies, hosting Symposium/ITxpo in San Francisco should enable more business and technology leaders to experience what this event has to offer."

Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2005 in San Francisco will provide senior IT and business strategists with in-depth analysis on the future of IT, in addition to abundant peer-networking opportunities with other IT and business leaders. The Symposium/ITxpo format includes hundreds of sessions led by Gartner analysts in specialized content tracks, such as Web services, security and privacy technology, outsourcing and emerging technologies. Attendees also have the opportunities to meet one-on-one with Gartner analysts and to review an exhibition showcasing the latest information technology products and services.

Gartner Symposium/ITxpo is the IT industry's largest and most strategic conference, providing business leaders with an insightful look at the future of IT. For more than 10,000 IT professionals from the world's leading enterprises, Gartner's annual Symposium/ITxpo events are key components of their annual planning efforts.
