To our valued clients,

As a follow-up to our letter of April 6, we'd like to update you on our plans to deliver all the research and services you currently receive on amrresearch.com via a new, personalized portal on gartner.com starting in late May.

For the majority of clients, the new portal on gartner.com will provide additional content covering the complete range of research from AMR. Each user will be able to personalize their own home page on gartner.com with specific research content and tools to proactively deliver the right advice to you and your organization at the right time. The new portal will also feature significantly enhanced search capability so you'll be able to locate the specific research, insight and advice you need, fast.

Later this month, we'll contact you via email with your personal credentials so that you can access AMR on gartner.com. Your client partner, known formerly as your service representative, will assist you every step of the way to ensure that the transition from amrresearch.com to gartner.com is simple and seamless, and to help you quickly access the new content and functionality available to you.

We have updated our frequently asked questions list below regarding the new portal on gartner.com, but please do not hesitate to contact your account representative, client partner or e-mail amr@gartner.com for additional help.

Regards,

Frequently Asked Questions

When will amrresearch.com migrate to gartner.com?

We will deliver all AMR research via a new, personalized portal on gartner.com starting in late May 2010. This will enable us to significantly enhance the content, experience and functionality you receive as part of your current entitlements.

How will I be notified of the changes?

You will receive an email in late May outlining the simple steps for logging on and personalizing your new portal page on gartner.com. We'll also let you know about tutorial sessions designed to help you get the most out of your new Web experience. Client partners will contact clients who do not start using the new portal to ensure that they can log on, customize the Web experience and take advantage of the new research and tools available.

I use my current username and password to log on to the new portal on gartner.com?

The email you will receive in late May will contain your current username and a temporary password, which you should change the first time you log in. You can change the temporary password to any letter/number combination you choose.

Will amrresearch.com be retired?

The AMR website will be retired after all current clients have migrated successfully to the new portal on gartner.com.

Products

Will Gartner honor existing contracts?

Gartner will honor all existing client contracts, and clients will be able to renew the products and services they currently receive. We also recognize that some clients of AMR and Gartner will want to merge accounts and contracts. We will work with those clients to do whatever works best for their organization.

Will the products and services I bought change?

Gartner will continue to honor all current AMR entitlements. Specifically, clients will be able to renew Web access (reference) seats, advisory units (inquiries) and Peer Forums. For supply chain and IT professionals, content entitlements will be opened in Q2 to include the full complement of AMR Advisory services: Industry Value Chain, Sustainability, Enterprise Applications and Retail. Technology and service provider clients will also receive significantly expanded entitlements by mid-2010.

What is the future product strategy?

Building on the great base of AMR's current supply chain products and services, Gartner will release a new generation of AMR research products. In research and advisory, we will introduce AMR for Supply Chain Leaders for supply chain professionals, and AMR for Supply Chain Providers for vendors and service providers. AMR Supply Chain Leaders will combine AMR supply chain research with Gartner supply chain management, manufacturing and retail research on our new My Gartner personalization platform, which includes Peer Connect, our client network. We are also introducing AMR Enterprise Supply Chain Leaders, which combines the research and advisory product with expert coaching and facilitated peer networking/learning. For more information about these new products, please contact your account executive or e-mail amr@gartner.com.

Will the AMR Supply Chain Executive Conference continue?

The AMR Supply Chain Executive Conference is scheduled for June 2 - 4, 2010, and we're looking forward to another great event. We are very excited to have added this world-class event to the Gartner portfolio. We intend to continue and grow this conference for the foreseeable future.

Research

Have the AMR analysts been retained?

Gartner extended offers of employment to every AMR analyst on December 1, 2009. We have retained 92% of the analysts and are currently hiring additional analysts across a number of areas. We will make every effort to ensure that our clients have access to the very best advisors on supply chain and enterprise applications topics.

How are AMR analysts positioned within the Gartner organization?

AMR remains a dedicated team. AMR's supply chain research team is led by Kevin O'Marah, and its enterprise applications research team is led by Dennis Gaughan.

Will you be adding additional research analysts?

To increase the depth and breadth of research you receive, we are expanding the supply chain research organization. We are currently recruiting three new analysts, with plans to hire several more later in the year.

Have AMR research topics changed?

AMR research topics have not changed, other than an increase in our global research efforts in Asia and EMEA. Clients will continue to receive the same valuable research and advice they expect from AMR.

Sales and service

Will my sales representative stay the same?

Wherever possible, we will try to maintain the existing relationship between clients and their current sales representative. However, in those limited instances where there is overlap (for example, when a client has a Gartner and an AMR sales representative), we have combined the relationship so that one account representative will now service the client.

Will my client partner stay the same?

We have worked hard to keep current client partner (known formerly as service representative) relationships intact. As a result, the majority of our clients will have the same client partner they had prior to the acquisition. In any case where we had to make a change, an experienced, highly tenured AMR client representative will continue to provide support for the client.

Will pricing change?

We do not plan to increase prices as a result of this acquisition. Upon renewal, clients can expect our traditional nominal annual price increase.

Brand

What will happen to the AMR brand?

We recognize the value of the AMR brand, and as such, we intend to retain it.

Who should I contact if I have a question, suggestion or concern regarding the acquisition of AMR?

Please contact your account executive, client partner or e-mail amr@gartner.com.
