Letter to AMR clients from Kevin O'Marah, GVP, Supply Chain Research

Dear client,

While many things have started to change as a result of AMR Research's acquisition by Gartner, our focus remains squarely fixed on producing world-class research for supply chain executives. As many of you know, I consider it our responsibility to make your job easier and help you achieve your goals. We have and will continue to research the issues and dynamics that affect supply chain strategies across the extended retail, consumer, high-tech, industrial and healthcare value chains. We have and will continue to research the best practices, tools and technologies that allow sourcing, manufacturing, logistics and planning professionals to do their best work. And, of course, we have and will continue to champion the cause of supply chain with the wider world by researching the link between supply chain leadership and business performance, as well as global economic, social and environmental impacts.

As part of Gartner's global research organization, we now have new resources available to dig more deeply into trends in Asia, Europe and emerging markets. We also have the world's deepest bench of pure technology knowledge at our side as we work to help you navigate investments in applications, communications and automation across your global value network.

We will continue to drill into the principles of "demand driven" as a sweeping force of transformation in supply chain. Our research architecture is established around these principles, and we are more than happy to walk you through it.

Our major research pieces will continue, including the annual Supply Chain Top 25 and new variants like the Healthcare Top 25. (If you would like to take part in the Supply Chain Top 25 voting for 2010, please follow this link: http://www.amrresearch.com/SupplyChainTop25/msg.aspx?msgcode=1. We will also add a number of Gartner research vehicles to the agenda, including a series of Magic Quadrants that target the major investments supply chain professionals need to make.

Our event schedule will also expand, with a European Supply Chain Conference this fall and a conference in Asia in 2011, giving us annual events in each of the Americas, EMEA and APAC going forward. You can see the agenda for this year's Supply Chain Executive Conference in Scottsdale, June 2-4, by following this link: http://www.amrresearch.com/events/Conferences/2010/06/AMR-Research-Supply-Chain-Executive-Conference/

Most importantly, we want above all else to retain your confidence and trust as we navigate the changes we are working through. I believe that the added resources and reach of Gartner can accelerate our mission to champion the cause of supply chain around the world and enable us to deliver more value to you and your business.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or your service manager with any questions.
